Essential Steps need to be followed before unrooting your Motorola DROID MAXX XT:

Step 2: You will have enable USB Debugging on your device. To do so, go to “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. The checkbox beside USB Debugging should be ticked.

Step 4: You will have to disable security apps and programs like Antivirus and Firewall from your device for the time being i.e. Until the rooting procedure has completed.
Step 5: Download USB Drivers (ADB and Fastboot) for your Android device to make it compatible with Windows.
- Download and install Motorola Device Manager on your computer.
- Download the RSD Lite tool and install it on your computer. If you encounter an error with the specific version then you can try other versions too.
- Download the appropriate firmware file for your Droid Maxx XT1080.
- Download and setup the Latest Android SDK on your computer.
How to Unroot Motorola DROID MAXX XT1080 and Install Stock Firmware
Step 1 – Extract the downloaded firmware zip file and open it to look for a file with .XML extension.
Step 2 – Open it with a text editor or you can also use Notepad for this purpose. For this, right click on this file and select Open with.., and then open it using Notepad or any XML editor.
Step 3 – After opening it, find the following string and delete:
- <step operation=”getvar” var=”max-download-size” />
Step 4 – Save the changes and close the text editor.
Step 5 – Launch RSD Lite
Step 6 – Put your phone in AP Fastboot mode and then connect it to the computer using USB cable. To boot the device into fastboot mode using ADB command simply open command or cmd window and type the command below:
- adb reboot bootloader
Step 7 – Click on the 3 dot button (…) on RSD Lite and select the .XML file.
Step 8 – Then click on Show Devices button and if it shows your device, everything is okay.
Step 9 – Now click the Start button and the installation will initiate. Wait till the installation is finished and when it is done flashing the firmware, your phone will reboot automatically.
Now, when your phone boots up, it will be on the newly installed stock firmware. This is all what you have to do to install stock firmware on your Motorola DROID MAXX XT1080.
